1) Tim Allen
In 1978, the the 25-year-old actor was arrested at the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport for possession of over 650 grams of cocaine. While he faced decades, and perhaps even life in prison, Allen was paroled after serving 2 years and 4 months.
Then, in 1997, the Home Improvement star was arrested for a DUI in Birmingham, Michigan.
2) Matthew Broderick
While driving through Northern Ireland with his then girlfriend and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off co-star, Jennifer Grey, the then 25-year-old actor crossed over into the wrong lane and crashed into another car, killing the driver and their passenger.
Broderick’s charges were lessened from “death by dangerous driving” to “dangerous driving,” and paid a small fine to the victim’s family.
3) Bill Gates
In 1975, Gates was arrested for driving without a license and speeding, and once again in1977 for driving without a license and running a stop sign.
It’s a good thing the software giant was able to pull his life together before he became ranked by Forbes as the richest person in the United States.
4) Vanilla Ice
Ice has had a few run-ins with the law over the years. In 1991 he was arrested for weapons possession when he threatened a homeless man. He would later then be charged with assaulting his wife twice, once in 2001 and again in 2008.
5) Matthew McConaughey
McConaughey was arrested in 1999 and charged with marijuana possession. When neighbors complained of loud noises coming from the future Academy Award winner’s house, police found arrived to find him dancing around his house, naked, and playing the bongo drums.
6) Will Smith
In 1989, Smith was arrested for his involvement in an assault that nearly left a man blind. While the charges were eventually dismissed, the actor and musical artist was originally charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and criminal conspiracy.
7) Christian Slater
Slater was first arrested in 1989 for drunk driving. He would then be arrested twice in 1997, once for assaulting his girlfriend while intoxicated, and again for attempting to board a plane with a loaded gun.
The Mr. Robot star was most recently charged with third-degree assault after a groping an apparent random woman on the street.
8) Kiefer Sutherland
Sutherland has been arrested four times. First in 1989, then in 1993, 2004, and 2007. Every time was for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The fourth and final offense landed the 24 star in prison for 48 days.
9) Mark Wahlberg
At the age of 16, the Academy Award nominated actor assaulted two Vietnamese men, on separate occasions, and left one of then victims blind in one eye.
Although he was sentenced to two years in prison, Marky Mark only served 45 days.
10) Jay Z
In 1999, the same year that his fourth album was released, Jay Z became involved in a confrontation at a nightclub, which resulted in him stabbing a record executive.
The rapper pled guilty to the crime and was given three years probation.
