Rocky Uzzell, 29, and Katherine Prigmore, 24, have been arrested after the couple filmed the horrific beating of their newborn baby, Isabelle, before abandoning the child to go out to eat at a nearby restaurant. The attack on the baby was so violent that she was in intensive care for almost 3 weeks. Doctors say she may not live beyond early adulthood. She may also never regain her sight, will have to be fed through a tube, and will most likely be bed-ridden or wheelchair-bound for the rest of her life as a result of the severe injuries her parents inflicted on her.
According to paramedic reports, the baby had severe swelling in the brain, one broken arm, and a few broken ribs. Her injuries were consistent with excessive squeezing. When officials arrived and tried to help the baby, they were quick to point out the strange behavior of the parents. Both Uzzell and Prigmore did not seem all that concerned about their baby’s condition. Apparently, it was Uzzell’s birthday and the pair were focused on where they were going out to eat.
The couple was later arrested. Uzzell was sentenced to 6 years behind bars, while Prigmore was only sentenced to 28 months in jail.
